This beautiful piece, possibly dating from the Napoleon III period, in France. Shows wonderful detailing and sculpturing of the bronze design work, showing the Latin moto “NEC PLURIBUS IMPAR”. The sconce is in generally very good condition for its age. It has, however, at some point been sympathetically modified to accept electric cable. We, however, have left it in the condition in which it was sourced – to take candles. The bronze shows incredible patina and colouration, due to its age and makes a rare and magnificent statement piece on any wall.
