Unique and ornate, this solid brass wall sconce has two candle stick holders with matching Black metal shades. Beautiful condition is found, no damage, ready to hang on your wall. Brass back plate measures 14.5″ tall by 9″ wide, has the hanging hardware in place and two felt bumpers. Candlestick holders are 10.5″ wide from base to base, and would stand out 5.5″ from wall. Black metal shades with gold interiors to reflect candlelight have a 2.5″ diameter top and 4.75″ in diameter bottom. Weight of set is 6 lbs. Candles left in pictures for visual, not included. EACH MATCHING WOOD SCONCE MEASURES 26″ LONG AND 8″ WIDE AT WIDEST POINT ACROSS. MADE OF CARVED WOOD WITH CREAM AND GOLD PAINT. THE CANDLE ARMS ARE METAL AND BOLTED TO THE PIECE THROUGH THE BACKS, THE REST OF THE SCONCES ARE WOOD. OVERALL GOOD CONDITION, THERE ARE SEVERAL SMALL PAINT CHIPS AS TO BE EXPECTED WITH THESE PIECES FROM ITALY, WHICH ONLY ADDS TO THEIR CHARM. THERE IS A SMALL SPLIT IN ONE OF THE LEAVES THAT HAS BEEN REPAIRED. I NOTICED ANOTHER SMALL CRACK LINE ON THE TIP OF A LEAF STEM. SEE CLOSE UP PHOTOS AND VIEW ALL PHOTOS FOR EXACT CONDITION.
They are a nice heavy weight toleware. They are in very good vintage condition, a few small paint chips.
This was made in the Swedish town Leksand in the county Dalarna. There is some tarnish and a few light scratches which can be expected. One of the candle holders is loose, but does not affect functionality. I find if I adjust it a little bit, it stays in place. The top plate can be removed from the lower plate if that look is preferred (see photo). Approximate size: 10.5″ wide by 19.5″ height. From pet-free and smoke-free home.
