Presented is a rare and beautiful vintage primitive metal (sheet iron or tin) wall candle holder or sconce. The sconce is cut in the shape of a spread eagle with its head turned to its left. The eagle holds arrows and a branch. The eagle’s eye is a hole that could be used for hanging. The candle holder has a triangular base with a central column for a candle. The eagles wings spread 16″ wide and 7 3/4″ tall. The base is 3″ deep and 4″ wide. I’m uncertain about the maker but it is similar to work by master tinners of southern Pennsylvania.
