They are in great vintage condition with very few surface scratches (very very few) and no rust or damage that I can see anywhere. Each sconce or candle holder is 14 1/4″ in height, 9″ across and 5 from front to back. The original hangers are attached to the back. These are very shiny and any wierd things in the photos are caused by lighting. There is no damage to this vintage pair of awesome candle holder sconces. Vintage Danish Modern Art Pottery Wall Candle Sconces by Knabstrup. This lovely pair is in very good condition. The pieces retain their original Knabstrup stickers to the backs as can be seen. Each is designed to hang on a wall and take a candle. There is a glossy glazed red and black design to the central unglazed section. The outer edges and the sconce design are finished in a smooth as silk satin glaze. The backs are slightly curved or concave. When lit the candles flicker and the light is reflected in the glossy glaze. I have included many photos as there are rubs and small grazes to the back where the piece sits against a wall. These look to have occurred from rubbing against something. Some of these have been coloured to camouflage them. As the pieces sit flat against a wall these are not seen from the front. There are a few places to the top and side edges where the glaze has been missed. If you require more photos please ask. There are two tiny chips to the glaze of one candle sconce as shown to the drip pan where the dark terracotta colour of the ceramic shows through and another to the inside edge of where the candle sits. The ceramic itself is not chipped it is the glaze to the surface. We do not generally sell chipped items but in this case we feel they can be forgiven as the pair is so striking. The sconces have two holes to thread wire or hanging thread through for a hanger. The pieces are 250mm tall and measure around 130mm across. Fresh from New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this adorable vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian Painted Metal Wall Sconce. Quality is very good, it features a basket on the bottom from are “growing” floral branches. There are 3 arms for candles total, and a back structure that goes against the wall. This is made of solid, not hollow metal, done the right way. Top is curved into an “eye loop” for hanging (see photos). Condition is good, slight wear, can be cleaned to shine like sun. Size is nice 14″ tall, 14.25″ wide, and 9 deep (coming off the wall). This is so gentle and happy looking, would work in any room, or even outdoor.
