This is a pair of vintage brass two-arm candle sconces, made by Virginia Metalcrafters. They likely date to the 1970s-80s. This company is no longer in business. The sconces are 13″ tall x 11″ drip plate to drip plate. They weigh over 2.5 pounds each. They’re in good vintage condition overall. One of the candle cups has more significant patina – shown in the last photo. They come with the mounting screws (not shown in photos, but they’ll be included). They are as-found, and would benefit from a cleaning/polishing, but otherwise, they are wonderful, substantial pieces from a quality maker!

VIRGINIA METALCRAFTERS COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG, OUTSTANDING PAIR OF CHOWNING’S LION TAVERN SCONCES STYLE# K12918. This is a wonderful pair of hard to find brass wall sconces for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Restoration Collection. These candles holders are called the CHOWNINGS’ TAVERN SCONCE, style number K12918 and were made by Virginia Metalcrafters of Waynesboro, Virginia. These wall sconces have two lions atop of scroll work with an extended saucer arm for holding a single candle. Their approximate measurements are Backplate Height – 10 3/4″ Backplate Width – 5 3/4″ Arm Projects – 10. On the backside are the following marksVirginia Metalcrafters Betty Lamp Hallmark & Logo 2018.
