Pair Vintage Solid Heavy Brass Cherub Candle Stick Holder Wall Sconces Italian. This is a stunning pair of vintage very heavy solid brass wall mount candle stick holder sconces. They are made in Italy, newer pieces but very nice quality pieces. Made from very thick heavy brass and is solid with a wonderful lacquer/polished finish. They are extremely ornate with intricate detailing depicting a cherub on each holding a single candle holder. The candle holder and drip plate are very ornate with stylized floral detailing. The cherubs have one foot on the wall bracket and the other on a nicely curved decorative piece on the bottom which is also equally as ornate as the rest of the piece. The backplate is very detailed and done in high relief. They are both in great shape and each measures 11 1/2 inches up ad down by 4 1/4 inches wide and sits 5 1/8 inches from the wall. Beautiful and a harder to find design of Italian gilt toleware wall candelabras. The typical variety is of Ivy, but here we have the Asian influence popular during the Aesthetic Movement of the late 19th century called Japonism. This design is of cherry blossom primus in bloom. Shows wear consistent with age, but all intact. The candle holders themselves are a bit loose and need secured from wobbling. Has two attached rings on rear for hanging (shown). This is an old antique very elaborate large gold gilt metal wall light candle sconce from a beautiful Victorian home that was decorated mostly in French. It is 18″ by 13″ and 7 1/2 deep with beautiful leaves and hanging tear shaped crystal prisms. One prism is not present. These are a common prism so would be easy to replace. The five back side lower center section leaves do have a hole for prisms but I think done were ever there as there is no space for them to hang. This is very ornate and pretty in person.
