These are a very classically-designed pair of brass sconce candle holders from Maitland Smith. Each piece is 17 long when fully assembled and weighs 3.5 pounds each. Unfortunately, I do not have the original glass which would have been 9.25 tall. With the original hurricane lamp, the overall height would be over 24, making it a very elegant pair. The fitter is 1.5, which is pretty common. I have not polished the brass. I do not have the brass screws for mounting. Please review the pictures closely as they are part of the description. They are substantial pieces measuring approximately 15 inches long and 10 inches wide and made from solid brass. Extremely unusual to find they are in excellent condition with no issues. Offering this important and exceedingly rare vintage pair of designer hand-hammered solid copper wall-hanging candle holders by Glencroft Coppersmiths. Glencroft was founded by Glen Reece, one of the coppersmith artisians of Roycroft. Glencroft copper is very rarely encountered, and when it is found, it is usually mugs or the occasional serving tray. I’ve never seen another pair of wall-hanging candle holders like these. Hand Hammered Pair of Candle Wall Sconces. 2 Solid Copper decorative wall sconces. Hanging hook soldered on back. Signed Glencroft Coppersmiths with Large G and candlestick logo on each sconce. Glencroft Copper founded by Glen Reece in 1948 in NY. With its mark of the Big G and little candle, was started in South Buffalo. NY in 1948, moved to Clarence in 1954 and is now based in Tonawanda NY. It was started by Glen Reece who had previously been with the Roycroft campus. The name is now owned by his grandson.
