These beautiful vintage sconces are made with Brass and feature very ornate details. The photos don’t do the two justice. Please see photos for true condition. These are left in their original untouched patina. One of the sconces has the candleholders slightly bent up, its the one in the left on the first photo of the listing. The dimensions of each are as follows: 21 inches tall from the top of the frame to the lowest point of the candleholders, the frame portion with the mirror is approximately 7 inches wide, and the portion of the candleholders on the front part of the piece is 9 1/2 inches wide. This pair of massively cast brass candle scones of elegant form dates from the middle to late 1700s and is most likely English or Dutch. Each measures 8 ¾ x 12 deep x 3 1/8 wide with 3 ¼ round bobeche that have delicate beaded details on the underside. Their backs have ground, square sprues and peened joints attaching the engine turned socket-knobs with squared holes that support the sigmoid arms with prominent spurs. As you study the images, note that the threads are hand formed and do not match identically; neither do the squared socket holes or the tapered ends of the arms and arms and backs are NOT interchangeable. App 50 years ago, the pair was subjected to a regrettable abrasive cleaning: a proper professional polishing will removes the scratches a restore a more appropriate period surface sheen. This is from our personal collection. The wife is thinning out some of our home décor and this piece came up for sale. HURRY before she changes her mind and finds a place for it again. It is solid brass and has some weight to it. An ornate angel adorned candle wall sconce with a silver back beveled mirror and 8 crystal prisims. The mirror has a few spots as many of the antique silverback mirrors do. It just ads character to the piece and tells everyone I have been a round awhile. It has a beveled mirror. Truly a high end look for a great price. The sconce is 14″ tall and 6.5″ at it’s widest point. The mirror is 4.25 x 2.75. The mounting ring on the back is different than most. Please take the time to look at the photo of it so you know how to hang it when it comes in. You DO NOT GET THE CANDLES with the sale. You only get the candle sconce shown.
